Both reels come fitted with the same great technology that Daiwa is famous for. Twist Buster on the line roller ensures that you are able to achieve excellent line lay – even when fishing with thin monofilaments or braided lines. Infinite Anti-Reverse is in place to eliminate back play on the reel when you’re locked into a fight with an aggressive competitor. Fitted with no less than six ball bearings, as well as one roller bearing, this reel is smooth an easy to operate. With a fantastic life span, this reel will see you through your match and feeder fishing days with ease.
Both of the models of the Daiwa Harrier X Match Rear Drag reel come supplied with an aluminium match spool, as well as a spare deep spool – also of aluminium construction. This makes them highly versatile reels, so if the venue demands greater distance on your cast you can swap out your match spool and introduce your deep spool. The same is true of the reverse, so if you suddenly find you need to work in slightly closer quarters you can switch back to your match spool.
Both reels boast impressive cranking power, with the 3053 able to return 75cm of line per handle turn thanks to its 5.2:1 gear ratio. The smaller 2553 also boasts this gear ratio, making it an worrying opponent for a hard fighting carp.
