Description

Greys GR70 Fly Rod

GR70 is Greys flagship fly rod in the GR Fly range. The GR range covers all angling styles and budgets, ensuring that you can either progress up the collection as your angling improves or you can simply dive in at the deep end with this flagship model. There are a huge number of rods available in this GR70 model and it covers a huge variety of fly fishing styles, so you can be confident that whatever your needs there is a Greys GR70 Fly Rod for you. Rods in the range include everything from a 9ft four section rod rated with an AFTM #6 all the way up to a 10ft four section rod rated with an AFTM #8. This means that you’re always able to find a rod that suits your angling style. The AFTM rating is always clearly labelled on the rod itself, so you can be confident that you’re buying the perfect complementary reel and line for your rod, too, ensuring that you’re able to tackle the water with confidence when you’re fishing with a GR70 Fly Rod.

The Greys GR70 Fly Rod is manufactured from a high modulus carbon. This ensures that the rod is able to offer a strong progressive action, providing you with an excellent tip flex whilst retaining the kind of sturdiness in the butt section that you require. The blank is exceptionally fast in its action too, ensuring you can comfortably handle any still water conditions with confidence and this is the perfect tool to use on a whole variety of fly fishing waters up and down the UK. The rod is fitted with a cork handle, which has a triple A rating. This ensures that you’re always able to get a perfect grip, no matter how you hold your rod and even in the wettest and coldest conditions you’ll never have to worry about your rod slipping from your hands at a crucial moment.

One of the most impressive features of the Greys GR70 Fly Rod is its two part skeletal reel seat. This reel seat is fitted with a carbon woven spacer, keeping all the strength of a conventional reel seat without loosing the performance benefits of a skeleton seat. The rod is also fitted with ID line up marks to ensure you get a perfect construction each time. You’ll never suffer from the perils of misaligned tips when you’re fishing with this rod, and the line up marks ensure that you won’t waste valuable angling time stood on the bank setting up your gear. The Greys GR70 Fly Rod is supplied in its own hard partitioned rod tube. This ensures the full safety and security of the rod both in transit and in storage – after all there is nothing worse than arriving on the bank only to realise your rod has sustained damage.

Greys is a brand which is synonymous with British fly fishing and it has been manufacturing top end fly tackle since 1968, when its first series of mid-market and high-performance fly rods were released. This was a much loved series and the brand has gone on to create more cult classics which have more than stood the test of time. Almost 50 years of the brands experience goes into every new product it produces, ensuring that new products only every get released when they represent a significant improvement on the original. As you can imagine, this doesn’t happen very often and the brand is proud that a great number of its products have an incredible on-bank lifespan – including this GR70 Fly.
