JRC Quad 2G XXL Bivvy
The JRC Quad bivvy has already achieved a cult following and it is generally accepted as one of the highest quality bivvies available on the market today. However, JRC isn’t a brand to rest on its laurels and the team knew they could improve on the design even further. This is why the brand has released the JRC Quad 2G, the second generation of the original best-seller. This is the XXL version of the bivvy, which boasts masses of internal space to ensure that you can take a mammoth amount of tackle down to the bank. This makes it the ideal option for the angler who partakes in longer carp fishing sessions as it allows you to take all the gear you need for multiple nights at the water’s edge. In fact, the JRC Quad 2G XXL Bivvy boasts a length of 360cm, a width of 335cm, and a height of 180cm. This means that it is almost 6ft tall at its highest point, meaning that even the tallest anglers hardly have to stoop and the average angler can stand comfortably. At almost 12ft long, you can practically lay your carp rods out lengthways for storage, which is ideal if you like to take spares and want to be able to store your rod holdall without it cutting diagonally across your bivvy. If this wasn’t enough, the bivvy is also almost 11ft wide, too. This ensures that it can fit the longest bedchairs, ensuring that the tallest angler can lay out flat and enjoy a good night sleep.
The JRC Quad 2G XXL Bivvy is able to offer this kind of internal space due to its double jointed 6061 aerospace grade aluminium four rib design. This rib system maintains bivvy width up the height of the bivvy, as well as bivvy height along its length, affording you buckets of additional internal space that you loose with a traditional single joint rib system. The bivvy is constructed from double coated 210 denier oxford nylon, which offers a hydrostatic head rating of 10,000mm. This means that is offers complete water protection in even the most inclement of conditions and the seams of the bivvy are taped throughout to further increase its rain resistance. The storm peak on the bivvy ensures that you don’t surfer from any rain incursion should you leave the doors of the bivvy open, as well as preventing vision obstruction when you’re sat in the bivvy looking out over your swim. This storm peak is completely detachable too, which ensures that you only need erect it if you feel the conditions on the bank warrant it.
The door of the JRC Quad 2G XXL Bivvy operates on a letter box system. This means you can Velcro it into the perfect position, whether that is half open (either to allow ventilation in the summer or to add additional protection without restricting your vision should you be sheltering in your bivvy in winter) or completely open (allowing you to prevent a trip hazard). The bivvy boasts seven ventilation panels. Three of these are on the front of the bivvy, in the position of the door and two windows. There is one ventilation panel on each side of the bivvy and a further two panels on the rear. This ensures that you can experience full air flow through the bivvy, even on exceptionally stuffy nights, without worrying that the mosquitoes will feast on you in the dark. All of these panels have storm baffles, which prevents rain incursion.
The JRC Quad 2G XXL Bivvy is supplied with its own heavy duty ground sheet, T-pegs, and custom built nylon carry bag.
