Nash Groundhog FS (Full System)
When it comes to a compact full system brolly then you can’t get much better than the Nash Groundhog. This is an improved version of the original system and it boasts an advantaced Aqua Sense Hydra material construction. This is a lighter-weight material than the original used in the Groundhog and it is even more waterproof. This means that you don’t have to make a compromise between the weight of your shelter and its waterproof credentials, as this shelter ensures that you can enjoy all the benefits of a lightweight brolly system whilst also profiting from a heavy duty waterproof which can hold its own in the most adverse of weather conditions. Never again do you have to worry about torrential downpours when you’re under the shelter of the Nash Groundhog Full System.
The Nash Groundhog Full System also boasts a four rib-to-ground contact points. This gives increased stability over the original design and it ensures that even in high winds you can enjoy an undisrupted night of sleep. This is a very sturdy system as it has been built with year round angling in mind – it is ideal for the angler who considers themselves more than simply a fair-weather participant of the sport. As well as these two new features, the Nash Groundhog Full System also maintains all of the features that were best loved about the original system. These include a shortened stub, which positions the spokes a mere 4 inches away from the roof of the brolly itself. This ensures that you can enjoy an impressive amount of the brolly’s 140cm of height – you headroom is completely uncompromised. In fact, the entire interior of the brolly is incredibly spacious considering the footprint of the brolly. The system feels considerably larger than its width of 270cm and depth of 210cm and it can comfortably fit a standard bedchair.
One of the problems that tends to plague brolly systems is their lack of ventilation. This leads to overheating at the slightest suggestion of sun, regardless of the time of year. The Nash Groundhog Full System doesn’t have this issue. Not only is it supplied with mosquito mesh panels, which can be zipped into the front doors and windows, but it is also supplied with two integrated rear mesh vents. These can be used completely exposed, allowing additional light into the bivvy as well as air flow, with the rear panels completely tied back. However, on muggy and damp days, with most brollys this would mean you would have to make a choice between a waterproof chelter or a humid one. This is a not a compromise you have to make with the Nash Groundhog Full System, as you can peg the rear panel out away from the brolly system – retaining its complete waterproof state whilst also allowing airflow through the bivvy. On cold days you can leave this rear panel un-pegged for maximum heat retention.
The Nash Groundhog Full System boasts two front windows, which have clear PVC options as well as mozzie mesh options. It also has a large dual zipped front door – which again has the same PVC, mozzie, or Aqua Sense Hydra options. You can also use this door in a letter box function, which is perfect for those most adverse of weather conditions when you want to retain a good view over your swim. Rod retainer straps give you somewhere to store your carp rods whilst you rig up, too, which is a nice bonus feature that not all brolly systems are able to offer.
The Nash Groundhog Full System is a versatile and uncompromising shelter that allows you to focus your attentions on the bank to the things that really matter – your carp fishing. It is an ideal choice for a roving angler, as well as the angler who likes to target smaller swims, and it can be used year round.
