The alarm is operated on a two-magnet roller system. The roller is turned as the line is pulled through it and each time the magnet passes the sensor it completely the circuit, causing the alarm to sound. This indicates the line speed, as the longer the alarm tone is, the faster the line will be peeling from the reel. This also allows the bite alarm to recognise drop backs. Uniquely, the alarm is fitted with two LEDs, one on each of the snag ears – which are integrated into the design of your bite alarm.
