This Agility Fly Reel from Shakespeare has been designed to balance perfectly on the fly rods in the Agility Fly rod range from the same brand. Constructed from strong die-cast aluminium, this reel is resilient, robust, and able to withstand the kinds of pressures that come with fly fishing. The spool has a large arbour design. This has a number of benefits, not least that you’re able to retrieve a greater amount of line with each handle turn. This means that you don’t have to wear your arm out reeling in your line each time so you preserve precious energy for playing your fish. It also has the dual purpose of allowing line to come of the line in larger loops, ensuring you’re at less risk of tangles and birds nests – no one likes to be sat on the bank trying to un-twist a birds nest knot when they could be out fishing!
The handle and knob on the Shakespeare Agility Fly Reel has been CNC machined. This ensures it is entirely ergonomic and is completely comfortable to hold and use. The Shakespeare Agility Fly is an ambidextrous reel and it is quick and simple to convert the reel between left and right hand retrieve. This makes it the ideal reel for the left-handed angler, who is fed up with having to go to specialists shops to find their reels, or for the right-handed angler who prefers a left-handed retrieve.
