Shimano Technium Match & Bolo Line,
Designed for float and feeder applications, the Technium Match and Bolo line from Shimano is ideal for match fishing, as well as being the line of choice in many specialist fishing situations too.
When you look at this line the first thing you will notice is its deep burgundy colouring. This comes from the abrasion resistant core of the line. The colour is visible in the air but barely perceptible in the water – particularly in the murkier rivers and lakes in the country. The outside of the line is clear, allowing you to see the burgundy core, and is UV protective. This ensures that, should you leave your line out in bright sunlight, the colour of the core is not bleached and the line itself is not weakened by the damaging UV rays.
The line is constructed using a three stage process. The first of these is the burgundy abrasion resistant core. This is then coated with another layer of abrasion resistant material. This material has been designed with low-to-no memory, to prevent line twist off the spool. The final stage is the clear UV resistant layer. Together, these three layers create an exceptionally strong layer that performs well in a number of scenarios.
With a stretch of 12% this line is ideal for feeder fishing and the slight stretch ensures that you are able to fish confidently without the risk of hook pulls or crack offs. You are also able to use the Shimano Technium Match Line in a variety of ways to great effect. Thanks to the slow sink of the line it performs particularly well as a waggler line.
Supplied on 300m spools this line is ideal for most mid-range fishing – and if you were to use the line in this way you would get 5-6 spools from the 300m. Able to be used with a variety of knots this line is great for all purpose match fishing.
