Trakker Tempest Brolly Skull Cap
Trakker’s Tempest Brolly is one of the nation’s most popular brolly systems – and it is hardly difficult to see why! Any angler who has spent any length of time in a Tempest Brolly will be able to tell you that it ticks all the boxes in terms of a hybrid day shelter; lightweight and heavy duty, this brolly is ideal for sheltering in on a miserable bankside during a mobile day session as well as spending a night on the bank during the warmer months. However, although the Tempest Brolly is fitted with a rain gutter, it has always been lacking the kind of peak which makes it really stand out from the crowd of other mobile brolly systems on the market. This is why Trakker have designed the Tempest Brolly Skull Cap. This Skull Cap joins a range of caps which Trakker have manufactured in order to give their existing bivvies and shelters a modern make-over and its release follows a slew of anglers begging the brand to design such a product. This is a system which will benefit your carp fishing set up year round and it is ideal for use in a whole range of weather conditions.
In the wet, this Skull Cap provides an extra layer of rain resistance. Its peaked front helps to prevent any rain incursion into the open front of the brolly, allowing you to shelter effectively when the heavens open unexpectedly. It has also been fitted with a rain gutter, so you don’t have to worry about any annoying run off disrupting your vision and splashing into the open front of your brolly. In the colder months, this Skull Cap prevents any condensation build up inside the brolly, ensuring that you’re never awoken from a peaceful slumber on your bed chair by a cold drip of water on your face. This is because it creates a cavity of air between the roof of the brolly and the cap, trapping any heat that escapes like a blanket around the brolly system. This keeps you warmer in the colder months - ensuring that you can enjoy a full and comfortable night’s sleep so you’ll be on top of your game when you get an early morning shout from your alarm.
In the warmer months, this same cavity creates a layer of insulation around the brolly which functions much like a cool box. Not only does the sun’s heat have to pass through a greater number of layers before it reaches the air inside your system but the cavity also helps to trap the cooler air inside the brolly. What’s more, the storm peak on the brolly provides you with an extended amount of shade. This means that you can sit in the doorway of your system, enjoying a panoramic view over the lake whilst remaining as sheltered as possible from the power of the sun. As an added bonus, the Trakker Tempest Brolly Skull Cap has been fitted with dual rod straps. These sit either side of the peak and allow you to make any terminal tackle adjustments to your rods without worrying that they’ll slip in an unexpected breeze – potentially causing damage to themselves, your bivvy, or you!
Trakker understands that you invest in a brolly system in order to be mobile on the bank. This is why the team has designed this Skull Cap in such a way that it can remain permanently attached to your bivvy. The first time you want to use your system, simply attach the clips of the skull cap around the poles of the brolly, slot the spigots into place in the front of the shelter, and Velcro down the remaining straps. It really is that simple!
