Wychwood HD MHR Brolly
Now that lakes are getting busier the need to stay mobile to keep on the fish is becoming greater and many anglers who used to spend days in one spot on the lake are turning towards a more mobile approach to angling. With this change, it becomes quickly apparent that the gear that is perfect for a long session just doesn’t cut the mustard when you want to keep moving. This is why tackle brands have begun to reassess the way they think about shelters and brolly systems, in order to create effective and practical tackle that really does make a difference on the bank. Wychwood has redesigned its existing range of brollies in order to create this HD MHR Brolly – a premier brolly package that is ideal for the most mobile of anglers.
The Wychwood HD MHR Brolly gets its name from its specially designed heightened central boss. Not only does this provide ‘maximum head room’, giving your head greater clearance when you’re sat in your brolly as well as increasing the overall internal space. This is ideal for the angler who likes to be able to sit comfortably inside their brolly, completely protected from the elements, during their carp fishing sessions. The brolly is manufactured from Wychwood’s own heavy duty rip stop material. This is not only incredibly durable, resistance to rips and heat warping, but it is also fantastically waterproof. In fact, it offers a hydrostatic head rating of 10,000mm – more than double most conventional brollies. This new material is also exceptionally lightweight and the brolly and storm poles together barely tip the scales at 3.75kg. This is another feature that makes the brolly ideal for the mobile angler and it won’t weigh you down when you’ve got the rest of your gear with you.
As a bonus feature, the Wychwood HD MHR Brolly has multiple internal mesh pockets. These are ideal for the temporary storage of your bankside essentials, such as your head torch, car keys, and bite alarm receiver. These pockets are completely removable, too, so it is up to you how and when you use them. The brolly has also been fitted with an extended rear skirt. This is a fantastic addition for the angler who prefers not to use a groundsheet as it provides a dry place for you to store your gear should you arrive in a swim after a heavy rain. The brolly does come with its own heavy duty groundsheet, too, for the angler who likes to have a little more protection from the damp ground.
The Wychwood HD MHR Brolly comes with two storm poles, which fit on either side of the open brolly front. These have spiral shafts in order to make it easy to fix the brolly into the ground. To prevent these from damaging the skin of the brolly in storage or transit, these come with their own specialist neoprene socks. These fit perfectly over the sharp end of the storm pole, protecting the brolly from dirt as well as damage. The front of the brolly also has clipping points for two other storm poles, should you feel you require a little more stability. The brolly also comes with its own heavy duty pegs, allowing you to perfectly position your brolly even in high wind conditions. Two rod retainer straps on the front of the brolly give you somewhere to secure your rods whilst you’re rigging up – preventing them from sliding around in a breeze and potentially causing harm, to you or your brolly!
Wychwood is so confident in this brolly that the brand is offering an extended five year manufacturers warranty on every brolly as standard.
