The Advanta overwrap adds a great extension to the Protector Peak Bivvy 2 Man V2 from their shelter range. The overwrap is designed to help eradicate the condensation within the bivvy so you do not have to wake up from your bed to a cold morning seeing your own breath. This extra layer to the Protector Peak bivvy increases the resistance to poor weather conditions thanks to the material being 5000HH, 210D polyester. There are also taped seams and a draught skirt so that wind and rain are not finding its way through joins in the bivvy and overwrap.
The overwrap has another function of increasing the internal space of the bivvy. The dimensions of the overwrap measure at 160cm H x 277cm W x 305cm D, offering an additional 30cm in depth.
The reinforced pegging points mean that even then there is a high tension of pegging that there will not be a sudden tear, making the overwrap and bivvy last longer for years of use. The pegging at the front has two height settings depending on the choice, it will bring the overwrap of the bivvy closer to the ground. Advanta supplies this wrap with heavy-duty T-pegs.
The wrap can be clipped into place with the velcro rod retaining straps and the roll-back front panels are tied back with buckle retainers. The wrap also has the option of two front door panels of either opaque green or mozzie mesh. The mesh allows ventilation whilst keep bug pests out. Using the clear window that comes with the bivvy, you can let some light into the bivvy for when building rigs in the shelter.
The wrap weighs in at a total of 3.1kg and can be packed down to easily fit into the oversizes carry case that comes with the wrap. This makes the commute easy and stores the wrap easily away.
