Tackle Tuesday... ESP Rucksack

I have managed to cut my fishing gear down further in the last few months to hold just the essentials. As a result, my previous rucksack was way too big. One look at the ESP version and I knew it would be the perfect size.

A large main compartment houses my small tackle bag, a couple of hook bait pots with plenty of space for my scales at the bottom. I also carry a raincoat in the top incase the weather takes a turn for the worse. At the base there is a heavy duty plastic to prevent water ingress and any damage to your essential items when it is dropped on rough ground.

There are also ample side pockets, ideal for banksticks and buzz bars or even your wrapping sticks. There are even clips if you need to clip a lightweight unhooking mat to the back for stalking or short day sessions. The zips feel robust throughout and its lightweight when completely empty, meaning you aren’t carrying excess weight, which is criticism I have of some luggage in thats its heavy duty materials add needless weight. The chest strap and padding make carrying it long distances easy, ensuring I don’t have any aches when I arrive at my swim.

With my fishing being so varied I feel a rucksack is the ideal as it can go on the barrow or be carried down the canal when travelling light. I will be using this rucksack for the coming season, so we will see how it fares after a year and I will report back.
