The Big Questions
1. What’s new then? Just the camo? Just the camo? This is anything but just camo! We’re talking the finest British Army DPM (disruptive pattern material), a firm favourite of the most influential carpers ever to have picked up a carbon. It’s as trendy now as it’s ever been, with hardened veterans, as well as the fashion-conscious whippersnappers now rocking this pattern everywhere from the rod butts to the water butts.
2. Will I like it? That all depends of course, on what type of angler you are! You’ll love this shelter if you’re into packing light, but retaining more than a modicum of comfort. Yes, it’s compact, but it’s more than big enough for your standard overnighter… in fact, we reckon that you’ll be more than comfortable in one over the weekend. The way that the bivvy is configured, principally thanks to a flat back, allows you to maximise internal space by pushing your bed up against the back. Clever stuff.
3. Any cool features? Yes, bags of them actually. Let’s start with the versatile front panel. It boasts mozzi-mesh windows and door, which can be zipped up if the weather turns foul. A three-quarter storm peak ensures that even driving rain can’t penetrate the bivvy, when the front is fully zipped up.
4. Sounds great, but what do we get with it? How’s about this for starters… tension bars, heavy-duty pegs, detachable, lightweight ground-sheet and oversized carry bag (why some companies make carry bags that fit like a glove is totally beyond us!)
