ESP Quiver System Review

The cleverly designed new ESP Quiver System has fared well under the microscope. Karl Jenkinson (ACF) is sure it will last for years and make transporting your rods a breeze.

Another quiver on the market, yes, but this one has practicality, versatility and value on its side. The new ESP quiet sleeve is available in three, four or five-rod capabilities. The well thought out and aesthetically designed three-rod option will take three set-up rods, a lightweight shelter or brolly, a landing net, a retainer sling, banksticks and storm poles. Although the smallest of the three, it's plenty big enough for all the of the essentials and retails at £25.95.

The quiver has a large pocket to hold the rod butts, which covers the whole butt section, right up to the reel seat. A velcro and webbing strap holds the top of the rod securely and a separate sleeve zips down fully on one side for ease of use and covers the rods right down to just above the reels. The sleeve also has a Velcro strap to secure it in place. Before you know it, you have a lightweight, protective cover over your prized Carp catchers!

Reel pouches are available at £6.95 each, with a simple and effective drawcord to hold them in place. They also have webbing clips on the outer pouch that, when secured together, stop the rods twisting in transit.

Carrying a shelter is easy, a three-quarter-length zip on the main quiver allows easy loading and unloading of any compact shelter or brolly. The compartment could also be used for retaining slings, landing nets or storm poles should you choose, but the two external pockets on the opposite side are designed specifically to cater for that. The smaller and lower of the two pockets will house 12in banksticks and bivvy pegs, and the larger pocket is designed to hold landing nets, retaining slings and storm poles.

The whole system has been well considered, right down to the small details like the handles. A small loop at the rear of the rod-butt pocket and a padded handle near the top of the quiver allow you to load the system effortlessly, whether that's into your car or onto the barrow. If you travel light and walk your gear, the adjustable, heavily padded shoulder strap is built to last. Other products on the market use plastic looks to secure the shoulder strap, but these can become brittle with use and snap. ESP has combated this problem by using heavy-duty webbing straps - genius.

The two further sizes will both house a larger shelter, while still retaining the same outer pockets and all of the fantastic features. This quiver system if designed to last, well thought out and set to be a great seller.

The Verdict A well considered and cleverly designed quiver, with versatility and practically being key attributes.
