Free Spirit CTX Carp Rod Review

With a reputation for producing some of the best top-flight carp rods on the market, Free Spirit has taken its first foray into the mid-range rod market.

The CTX carp rod has all the credentials of one much higher in price, yet it allows anglers to buy into the prestigious name and top performance. With a unique weave, it is made with an awesome lightweight carbon blank, making it slim but still maintaining power for casting. Test curves come in a range of options, from the 2.5lb model, which is ideal for small water angling, up to the SU, which lends itself to extreme-range fishing.

What is astonishing is the performance, especially given the price tag. The SU has achieved casts of over 200 yards. With developments to the blank, the rod has been able to be manufactured to prevent blank twist on the cast, improving accuracy and distance.

Finally, it is adorned with a Fuji DPS reel seat and 'S' Lite Guides, further reducing the weight.

On the lower-test-curve models, 40mm ringing features, with the SU featuring 50mm uses for reduction friction on the cast. There are also Spomb and Marker rods available if you want to complete the set. When you consider the brilliant performance and value for money, we are highly impressed with the CTX range.

They offer superb value for money and are well worth a look if you are interested in updating your fishing rods.
