Renowned Carp Angler, Kev Hewitt to Join Angling Direct

We’re extremely proud to announce that the well-known, talented angler Kev Hewitt will be joining Angling Direct as the Branch Manager for our new Swindon store.

Kev’s vast experience and varied knowledge of angling will undoubtedly prove invaluable to Angling Direct and its customers. Kev is transferring from Hinders of Swindon, where he has worked as the Manager for the last three years and is now looking forward to embarking on his new journey with Angling Direct.

Kev was born and raised in the south-west of England where he grew up learning all of the different disciplines of angling, fast-forward to the present though, and Kev is best known as a carp angler of legendary status. Kev’s carp fishing exploits at popular day ticket venues have propelled him to a significant level of fame within the carp fishing world - he is currently British champion and Carp Team England member.

While most people know Kev as a carp angler, he prefers to think of himself as an all-rounder. From fishing for roach on the river to fishing for bass on the sea, Kev thoroughly enjoys all aspects of angling. We have no doubt that this enthusiasm for the sport will be instrumental to the future success of the Swindon store.

Besides being a skilled angler, Kev is now a family man – recently married with a 9-month-old daughter named Daisy. Even with a store to manage and a busy family life, Kev still manages to squeeze in time for a couple of 48-hour sessions a month, as well as the occasional day session!

As Branch Manager of Angling Direct’s new Swindon store, Kev will be working alongside a team of like-minded people. Both Kev and the team are looking forward to working together and are excited to begin driving the Swindon store forward.

We are confident that Kev’s passion for angling, combined with his in-depth knowledge of all things fishing tackle, will be vital in the successful launch and future growth of our Swindon store. We hope that you will join all of us here at Angling Direct in welcoming him to the team and wishing him the very best in his new role.
