Arezue Wright- The Female Touch

The world of carp fishing is forever evolving and now more so than ever with the emergence of so many female Anglers participating in the sport and taking carp fishing to the next level. As a result, we are connecting with new audiences, injecting a new sense of vibrancy into the sport and ultimately doing away with the traditional view that it is a male dominated sport.

Female Anglers all over the world are breaking away from stereotypes and setting foot on the bank in search of the biggest catch, whether it be at home or away and benefiting from all the fun and health benefits fishing has to offer.

Men are now becoming much more accustomed to seeing a female angler turn up on the bank and start setting up on the peg next to them.

Not only are female Anglers setting foot on the bank and happily fishing independently but with a new sense of belonging, a high number of females are now making a name for themselves within the Industry and are now being recognised amongst our male counterparts.

When it comes to the world of carp fishing paired with the female touch there are no limits and whilst some may say that the ladies simply strike lucky, the female phenomenon plays a major part in the sport. My personal belief, as a female angler who has been fishing for the past four years, is simply that many of us ladies are creating our own luck on the bank with our passion, enthusiasm and eagerness to learn and break the mould.

Since my own personal journey started over four years ago, I have always felt a great sense of acceptance and equality within carp fishing.

For me, fishing has never been about competing with other females but instead a desire to share my experiences in the hope that I can help to recruit passionate like-minded people who in turn help grow the sport and preserve all that we hold true.

I believe that we, both male and female, should all support one another and encourage each other to enjoy the sport and better our skills and knowledge, especially with the multitude of social media platforms at our disposal today we should cast our net far and wide.

The future of fishing is pink - so come on ladies what are you waiting for?
