Method Feeder Fishing For Carp In Winter

For this latest episode we took the cameras down to Weybread Pits, in Harleston Norfolk, with the aim of catching a few fish on the method feeder.

We had previously filmed a session on the method, but that was in the height of summer, so we thought it was worth revisiting, to have a look at the best way to fish this popular method in the cooler months of autumn and winter.

First of all, at this time of year swim choice can be essential, the fish tend to be more compact at this time of year and large numbers of fish will often congregate in a certain area of the lake. With this in mind we spent a good half hour weighing up our options, walking a couple of laps of the lake before deciding on our swim.

Eventually we opted for one end of the lake in a quiet corner, we’d seen 4-5 fish top in this area, had a good expanse of water at our disposal and plenty of features, including 2-3 small islands.

We quickly trundled the tackle to the chosen swim and began to set up for the session, after preparing the baits and rigs we were soon set up for the first cast…
