Pole Fishing On Stillwater Canals & Snake Lakes, Rigs, Tips & Tactics

Recently and since we began filming we’ve had many requests asking if we could film a video on a Stillwater Canal, or ‘Snake Lake’ as they are sometimes known. This is basically a small, thin strip of water that is very narrow and in general pretty featureless.

Here in Norfolk we don’t have too many lakes like this, but there are one or two and one in particular, a small private lake Steve knows, seemed to fit the bill just perfectly.

So in this episode we venture down to the water, which is only around 16m across, with the aim of showing you how we would generally tackle lakes of this shape and size. With so little water it can sometimes be a daunting scenario, but there are a few things you can do to get the best out of your swim.
