Sturgeon Fishing - Martyn Page

Our very own Martyn Page has just returned from a week away in Canada, where he was fishing the famous Fraser river in pursuit of the mighty Sturgeon.

Marytn, who's no stranger to this prehistoric species, enjoyed some fantastic sport, landing an incredible 18 fish, with 4 fish over 100lb, 3 over 200lb/7ft+, and a monster of 300lb/8ft+ topping the lot.

Marytn commented…

'Even though it was a little slower than normal, partly due to the mild winter and the fact the fish had been feeding steadily though out this period, the Sturgeon fishing never ceases to amaze me.

We worked extremely hard at the fishing throughout the week and we were reward with some great sport, the river came up trumps once again. It always seems to!

This time I managed a total of 18 fish, which included 4 between 100-200lb, 3 over 200lb and one over 300lb, 325lb and 8ft 4inch to be precise!

I'm already itching to get back later on this year and I think it has to be one of the best fishing destinations in the world, not just for the fish, but for everything, the county, the people and the surroundings, it's all truly magical.'
