Stick Float Fishing Fun On The River - Dace Race & Bonus Chub!

Over the past decade due to the increased pressure on the stocks in our river systems, through predators and pollution etc and the increase of commercial fisheries, many rivers have almost become neglected. Methods like trotting the traditional stick float and/or chub loafer have almost become a forgotten art and it's not until you re-visit such a method do you realise how much you enjoy it and that's exactly what we done in this latest episode from the waters edge.

Joined by our good friend Oliver Harper we visited the banks of our local river Wensum, with the aim of having a nice fun and hopefully fish filled day. Armed with a mixture of both float and ledgering tackle, the plan was to start the day fishing for some of the smaller inhabitants of the river, mainly Dace, using the traditional stick float, before hopefully targeting some of the larger residents, Chub, using ledgered baits towards the end of the day.

To find out exactly how we got on and to perhaps find out a few tips along the way, watch this latest installment, from the waters edge.
