Angling Direct have some positive news to share in these testing times. With adherence to government guidelines we are happy to announce that as of June 1st, we are able to offer a Call + Collect service, from 6 of our stores.

It won’t quite be business as usual, but we are excited to be working towards normality and hope to open more stores as soon as we can.

The 6 stores available for our Call + Collect service are as follows; Birmingham (01213 443 333), Rayleigh (01268 777 127), Swindon (01793 496 004), Norwich (01603 400 757), Sheffield (01246 291 155) and Waltham Cross (01992 769 769).

Whilst everyone at Angling Direct is euphoric about being able to fish again, we will be seeking further advice and guidance from the Government before reopening of all 36 of our nationwide stores.

As the world continues to come to terms with the reality of confronting the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) we here at Angling Direct wish to assure you that we are taking every precaution to ensure the service we provide is optimised to prioritise the health and safety of our customers, employees and their families.

All AD sites – including warehouses and offices – already follow existing hygiene protocols, these measures have been heightened during this period and will continue to be monitored and adjusted where necessary, in accordance with Public Health England and Government guidance.

In accordance with government guidelines, all 36 of Angling Direct’s nationwide stores remain closed.

Can I place an order? Will my delivery arrive?

Yes, Angling Direct’s online service remains operational in accordance with government guidelines.

Are delivery times affected?

We are currently working on an expected delivery time of 4-7 days, but ask that you remain cooperative with us during these testing times.

Can I return items?

Yes, any unwanted items can be returned within 30 days of receipt, these items must be unused and in their original packaging. Goods can be exchanged for a refund or exchange.

What are Angling Direct doing to ensure the safety of its colleagues?

Is it possible to reduce contact with the driver when they deliver my order?

Yes. Angling Direct’s delivery associates and partners have been advised to reduce contact with customers, this may include placing packages at the customer’s doorstep and stepping back. If an ID check is required, which is usually the case with Parcel Force, the driver will complete the check at a distance. They will not be handing over our hand-held devices to customers to capture electronic signatures. Drivers will instead log the first and last name of the person accepting the item, then put 'XP1' in the signature field, and we will record the geolocation of the delivery. This will apply to all deliveries that normally require a signature.

Are Angling Direct stores open?

No. Angling Direct stores remain closed until we receive further guidance from Government. However, our online service - www.anglingdirect.co.uk - remains operational, with free delivery on orders over £16. We are doing this to ensure both customer and colleague safety.

Can I order using Click + Collect?

What is the current expected delivery time?

4-7 working days, we always try to process orders as quickly as possible, but sometimes with increase periods of high volume, this may stretch to a longer turnaround, especially in the current lockdown situation.

Can I go fishing?

Yes, only in England. You can go alone or take this opportunity to introduce a member of your immediate household to angling, you should still adhere to social distancing guidelines. Check availability with your chosen venue before travelling.

What do I need to go fishing?

If you're new to angling or you've had a lapse away from the sport in recent years, but fancy giving it a go our customer services are on hand to assist you with purchases, you can find helpful guides and tutorials on the Angling Direct YouTube channel, ADTV. We have also created several bundle deals to help you get out on the bank for the day. Do not forget you will need a valid fishing licence.

With fishing now allowed, what type of fishing should I start with?

Simple coarse fishing would be a great start for a beginner but Angling Direct have the biggest ranges at great prices to support all types and experience of fishing.

Do I need to book a swim at my chosen venue?

Yes, venues and syndicates across the country are likely to reopen at different times, there is no one date or time to suit the entirety of the industry. Subsequently, Angling Direct highly recommend you check with your chosen venue, club or syndicate before travelling, booking on to swims is of paramount importance to ensure safe social distancing and we strongly encourage you to do so.

Do I need a fishing licence?

Yes, regardless of whether you are going fishing for the afternoon, a couple of days or the entire week, you will still be required to hold a valid fishing licence. These are available here - https://www.gov.uk/fishing-licences

When am I allowed to fish the river?

The river season commences on June 16th.

Can I match fish?

No, organised gatherings are still prohibited, subsequently no matches or the use of keepnets are allowed.
