Description

Trakker Tempest Composite Bivvy

The Trakker Tempest Composite Bivvy is the ideal over-night solution for the angler who wants the structure and security of a full fronted bivvy system combined with the low weight and quick setup of a brolly. In many ways it is the ideal hybrid system for the longer session angler who still wants the freedom of mobility. In fact, the bivvy itself weights in at a mere 5.5kg (plus an additional 3kg with the pegs and groundsheet) and has a pack down size of 128cm x 22cm. This makes it ideal for barrowing around lake whilst you seek out the ideal swim, as it won’t weigh your down and tire you out before you’ve even started angling. What’s more, it also ensures that you have loads of space left on your barrow for all your angling essentials.

The compact pack down size of the Trakker Tempest Composite Bivvy also translates into a compact footprint. This means that you can squeeze this bivvy into the smallest of swims and it offers a width of 265cm, a depth of 210cm, and a height of 130cm. However, don’t let this compact footprint fool you into thinking that you’re going to be short of space on the bank. With an near flat back, you can push even a wideboy bedchair as far back into the bivvy as you like, freeing up tonnes of space in the front for all your luggage, tackle boxes, and cooking equipment. This makes it ideal for both a quick overnighter and a longer weekend (or week long) session.

One of the biggest benefits of the Trakker Tempest Composite Bivvy, and a feature that really makes it stand out from other bivvy systems currently available on the market, is its super quick setup. All you have to do is slot the ribs together and fan them open. This leaves you with a completely free standing bivvy which you can then position over your groundsheet. Pegging points around the bivvy allow you to secure it in the perfect position with its own high quality T-pegs, ensuring its structural integrity in blustery conditions, and the front door quick sticks can be extended to achieve the perfect height. The bivvy gets its name from the redesigned composite block that helps to operate its unique opening system. On the original Tempest bivvy this block is manufactured from aluminium. However, the Trakker team soon realised that, although this was an extremely heavy duty options, it was adding unnecessary weight to the bivvy. By changing the block to a composite material they have managed to retain its durability whilst also reducing its weight, making the bivvy more transport-friendly for the roving angler.

The Trakker Tempest Composite Bivvy is manufactured from a special 210 denier polyester material. This means that the water simply beads from it, keeping you perfectly dry in torrential conditions. What’s more, a rain gutter that runs around the front of the bivvy prevents water from dripping directly down the door. This door system is incredibly versatile. Thanks to its dual zip, you can have it open, sealed, or used in a letter box style. What’s more, you can remove the front waterproof panel to reveal a complete mozzie mesh, which is ideal in those hot and muggy summer conditions. You can also use the bivvy as a completely open fronted shelter. To do this, remove the quick sticks and roll back the sides of the front panel, as well as rolling up the door. This ensures that you have a completely undisrupted view of your swim. If you’re more than simply a fair-weather angler, you can also purchase a winter wrap for the Trakker Tempest Composite Bivvy.
