Centurytook a very long distance approach when it came to designing this long distance rod. The team worked closely with Jeremy Schrader throughout the design process – or as close as you can when Century are based in the UK and Jeremy in Melbourne, Australia. Jeremy is a highly competitive angler who regularly features on the world tournament scene. As you might expect, Jeremy has fished the UK coastline extensively on his many excursions around the globe and, as such, he has an intimate knowledge of many of the best loved sea fishingpatches up and down the shores of Great Britain. Not only this, but you might recognise Jeremy’s name form the many articles he publishes annually and he also moderates on a number of the top fishing forums.
The original Tip Tornado LD was one of the most popular rods the Century had produced and it was popular for its low diameter and high power. The Tip Tornado Super Match LD felt like the natural progression from the original Tip Tornado, as well as the original Super Match rod, as it combines the bite sensitivity of the Super Match with the long distance casting power of the Tip Tornado LD. The Century Tip Tornado Super Match LD offers a J-curve under pressure and boasts an easily loading of power thanks to its Gearbox Design. Energy stored in the gearbox is progressively released throughout the cast and this rod can hold an exceptional amount of power. The rod also boasts a highly sensitive tip for optimal bite registration.
The rod is furnished with Fuji Titanium K Guides which are not only super lightweight but also exceptionally hardwearing. These ensure that your linecan glide through with almost zero friction, allowing you to achieve fantastic distance casts. The Century sliding reel seat and integrated coasters keep your reelin the perfect position whilst also stopping sand from encroaching under the Japanese shrink wrap handle. Red metallic underwrap and gold tip bands finish the look perfectly. This is certainly a rod that Jeremy Schrader is proud of!
