Chub Rs-Plus Max Bivvy
If you’re looking for a top quality, value for money bivvy that will see you through a lifetime of angling then you need look no further. The Chub RS-Plus Max ticks all boxes, from durability to footprint size, and it is the ideal option for the angler who likes to remain comfortable on the bank. The Chub RS-Plus Max Bivvy is based on a classic two rib pram hood construction, with an additional third rib forming a storm peak on the bivvy. This means that is incredibly easy to assemble. Simply slot the ribs together and pull the front of the bivvy forward. This causes the bivvy to erect in one movement, meaning that all you’ll have left to do is fit the tension straps, frame supports, and peg the bivvy into place. The speed of construction allows you to remain focussed on the thing that really matters – your carp fishing – rather than wasting precious minutes on the bank wrestling with your bivvy.
Not only does the Chub RS-Plus Max Bivvy have an integrated storm peak but it is also fitted with storm side panels. This is because the bivvy can be used as an open fronted day shelter. The storm peak and sides help to keep any rain out of the bivvy, as well as shielding you from the worst of the wind. The storm peak also helps to keep the rain off the door of the bivvy when you use it with the complete front panel attached. The door of the bivvy is often the place where you’ll find the most rain incursion – not only because it is your only entrance and exit but also because the zips of bivvy doors are often not as watertight as the main bivvy fabric. The Chub RS-Plus Max Bivvy storm peak prevents any water incursion either through the closed zips or open door.
The door of the bivvy has two way zips, allowing you to use it in a letter box function. This is ideal in high winds or heavy rain, when you want the full security of your bivvy but you still want to enjoy a panoramic view over your swim. It also comes with two additional door infill options. The first of these is a clear PVC window, which is ideal for use on winter day when you want the full protection of a water and windproof layer whilst still letting light into your bivvy. The second of these is a mozzie mesh vent option. This is perfect for the warm summer months, both on the continent and right here in the UK, when you want to allow air to flow through the bivvy without allowing any mosquitoes or gnats to enter the bivvy.
The Chub RS-Plus Max Bivvy is manufactured form a 5,000mm hydrostatic head material. This ensures that it is more than capable of withstanding the most intensive rain storms – both in the UK and on the continent. The bivvy has 16mm 6061 high grade aluminium poles and comes with inline bivvy tension bars, to retain the bivvies structural integrity in all weather conditions. It also comes supplied with short corded pegging point and high quality T-pegs, which ensure that you’re able to firmly secure the bivvy in all ground types.
The bivvy comes supplied with a detachable lightweight groundsheet. This can be inserted into the bivvy should you arrive on a swim after a heavy rain and you want somewhere dry to store your luggage. It is also ideal for use during longer sessions, particularly in the winter, when you want to keep the damp out of your Chub RS-Plus Max Bivvy.
