This spare spool fits the reel perfectly and has also been fitted with the same Quick Drag knob as the original Basia spool. This function allows you to switch from full freespool mode to full fighting drag in less than half a turn. This is ideal for those anglers who want to target the UK’s biggest and hardest fighting opponents as it allows the fish to run with your hook until you are ready to engage in battle. This results in more landed fish and less bankside disappointment.
The Daiwa Basia QD Spare Spool has been fitted with starlight holes on the spool skirt. These allows for the insertion of isotopes – an indication method that is essential for low light fishing. If you get a midnight take these starlight holes allows for the easy identification of the running reel, making the time from take to fight significantly shorter – once again increasing the chance of landed catches. The 45mm anodised spool ensures you can cast out to all the features you require and is ideal for all manner of carp fishing styles.
