A top end rod, this NewEra SLR Salmon Fly features all of Daiwa’s latest technological breakthroughs. The most impressive of these is Bias Carbon, which is used throughout the NewEra range to great success. Significantly stronger and offering a greater torque resistance than traditional carbon fibre constructions, Bias Carbon works by loading the carbon fibres at 45 degree angles. Unlike traditional blank constructions, which layer the fibres at 90 degrees, this form of construction removes the risk of weak points forming at the intersection between fibres. This method of carbon layering also enhances the casting energy that this rod is able to produce as it strengthens key compression areas which allows for an increased built up of power potential. The rod boasts an internal constant taper profile, ensuring that the front end of the rod is highly responsive. This ensures perfect line delivery and it loads the rod into a progressive power zone which, with the correct timing, allows the rod to release higher up the blank. This can give you a tighter loop or add additional speed to fast overhead casts.
This impressive blank is furnished with strengthened Fuji SiC stripper guides. These allow for the seamless transmission of line along the rod for flawless casting. The reel seat on this rod has been uniquely designed by Daiwa and is perfect for the newEra Fly Reel, as well as a number of other fly reeloptions.
