The Shimano Alivio DX Rod is designed for dedicated anglers who have a tighter budget. However, this doesn’t mean that the rod sacrifices any of the features of more expensive alternatives, and Shimano has made sure that the rod possesses many of the hallmarks of costlier rods.
The biggest feature of the Alivio DX series is the material the rod blank is constructed from. Geofibre, which has been integrated with traditional XT 30 carbon, is a low cost material with staggering qualities. It is a naturally derived material which delivers high rigidity, high compression strength, and high tensile strength, making it perfect for rods that sit in the middle to low end of the price spectrum. Shimano recognises that even the most dedicated anglers cannot always afford or justify splashing out on a really top end protect. The use of Geofibre in the Alivio rod series maintains the high performance that Shimano rods are famous for, but at a fraction of the cost.
The Alivio DX rod has an excellent casting ability and playing action, making it perfect for two or three rod set ups on day ticket waters across the UK. All of the rods across the Alivio series feature Shimano Hardlite guides, DPS Reel Seats, and 40mm butt guides. The rods are all two piece outfits. The Alivio DX series looks great too, and features fashionable understated cosmetics in a stylish black with silver accents.
With a variety of lengths and test curves to choose from, ranging from 11ft rods to 13ft, with test curves between 2.5lbs to 3.5lbs, there’s bound to be an Alivio DX rod for you! Return of goods & Refunds
Any incorrect or damaged goods must be reported within 5 days of receipt. These will be replaced as soon as possible at no expense to yourself. All unwanted items must be either returned at your own expense or taken into your local Angling Direct store.
