Van Den Eynde Luncheon Meat
Long gone are the days when anglers would head down to their local supermarket for a couple of tins of Spam to cube up and use as hookbaits. As fishing tackle has grown more sophisticated so have the baits we use to lure in our catch. The more we learn about our quarry and the better we understand them, the more likely it is that we’ll end up with a new personal best on the end of our rig. This is why a tin of luncheon meat bought from the shop simply won’t cut the mustard anymore and it is also why companies such as Van Den Eynde have dedicated considerable time and effort to create flavoured luncheon meats designed with carp fishing in mind.
Marcel Van Den Eynde was a World Champion Belgian international angler and he founded his bait business off the back of his 1970 World Championship victory. Marcel was famous for having the edge on his opponents on the bank and this was the ethos with which the company was founded. There are three Van Den Eynde Luncheon Meats available, each of which has been designed with a unique angling purpose in mind. However, despite the different flavours each meat is assured that it provides the perfect texture for anglers – with absolutely zero gristle to ensure that is performs in exactly the way you expect it to.
The first of the three flavours in the range is Strawberry. This is an intensely sweet luncheon meat which is perfect for all your cold weather angling – just as sweet glugs and boilies are ideal for use when the water temperature drops. The second of the flavours is Halibut. As you might expect, this is a fishy luncheon meat which is perfect for use in the warmer months and it is ideal for both carp and chub. Finally, the last flavour available in the range is known as Boost It. This is mussel and shrimp based luncheon meat which is perfect for use in a huge range of scenarios. It is also the ideal meat to add to a groundbait mix in order to supremely boost the flavour and aroma and it is guaranteed to make your bait irresistible to your quarry.
The Van Den Eynde Luncheon Meats can be used in a variety of ways. Once you’ve removed the product from its easy open tin you can slice and chop it to cubes. These can be placed directly onto your hook to create a fantastic hookbait. You can also slice and pass the meat through ¼ inch groundbait riddle, which once again creates an ideal size for your hookbait. Similarly, for a rougher approach, you can simply tear chunks of the meat off for use as uneven hookbait. Regardless of the method you use you’ll never have a problem with the meat breaking up on your hook and it casts brilliantly. By slicing and passing the meat through a fine maggot riddle you can create the perfect feeding mix or by using a large punch you can create a mix of sized particles. There really is no limit to the way that you can use the Van Den Eynde Luncheon Meats.
The Van Den Eynde Luncheon Meats come in 340g tins, to ensure that you’re always left with the perfect amount of bait for your angling session.
