The taper on this Tournament leader brings the line diameter down from 0.8mm (offering an impressive 65lb breaking strain) to 0.37mm (or 16lb in terms of breaking strain). This enables you to achieve a much smaller, and tighter, knot – which is significantly less likely to catch weed on the retrieve or snag on rod rings during the cast.
In a vibrant orange colour this Tapered Shock Leader means this is a highly visible line. This makes it best suited to night fishing or angling in low light conditions. This Shock Leader is 13m long, with the initial 9m at the 0.8mm diameter, tapering down over the final 4m to 0.37mm. This is Daiwa’s size 2 Shock Leader and is also available in size 1 – which is a clear monofilament. In both styles the Daiwa Tapered Shock Leader is constructed from an extra strong monofilament, ensuring it performs in exactly the way you want it to on the bank.
