These are highly corrosive and can cause major long term reel damage if the reel is not maintained properly. This is why Leeda worked long and hard in the development process to ensure that its reels were saltwater resistant, and this Icon 6500 Surf features many saltwater resistant parts to ensure it has a long lifespan.
This reel has a spool large enough to comfortably hold 330 yards of 15lb line. This allows you to cast far out into the water to catch those hard-to-reach fish with ease. Instant anti-reverse on the stainless steel clutch eliminates unwanted back play when the reel is in fight mode. To access this fight mode you simply need to adjust the front drag – an easy feat thanks to the micro-precision adjustment knob. This allows you to get into a fish instantaneously, resulting in more landed catches and less lost fish. Six balls bearings at work within the reel ensure that this reel is smooth and easy to operate. They also do their job to extend the lifespan of the reel – reducing the friction on the vital moving components to reduce the risk of premature wear and tear.
