The spool itself is actually manufactured from graphite, which ensures that this reel is every bit as durable and as lightweight as it needs to be in order to perform perfectly time and time again. This is a shallow spool version of the original Carbonite 1M and it perfectly lends itself to a number of match fishing scenarios. However, this reel is also supplied with a spare regular sized spool as standard. This ensures that this reel is able to offer maximum versatility on the bankside so you are able to tackle any situation with confidence.
As with many of Okuma’s match fishing reels, the Carbonite 1M 35RD has been designed using RESII. This is a computer-balanced rotor equalising system that ensures that this reel performs perfectly time after time and it also increases the reel’s durability. The gearing system in this reel has been precision manufactured. Its elliptical design allows for more power to be built with each handle turn, enabling you to pull in even the chunkiest of catches with ease thanks to the 5:1 ratio it offers. The Carbonite 1M 35RD has also been fitted with a quick-set anti-reverse bearing, enabling better hook sets and reducing the rick of hook pulls resulting in lost fish.
The body of Okuma’s Carbonite 1M 35RD Match reel is constructed from graphite. This is a corrosion resistant material, ensuring that this reel has an impressive life span, and the bail wire on the reel is manufactured from an equally durable stainless steel material.
