Filled with polystyrene balls, so as not to absorb water, this Olive Beanie Mat provides a thick layer of firm, supple padding. Unlike traditional foam, the balls in this mat completely support the carp from the moment it is laid down on the mat, offering it full protection from the rough bankside. The use of polystyrene ensures that this mat is lightweight and easy to transport to and from the bank. This is another area where the Olive Beanie Mat is superior to its foam filled cousins. Polystyrene is significantly lighter than traditional foam and offers complete protection for the fish.
The Olive Beanie Mat features additional raised padded around the perimeter of the mat, in order to give increased protection for those larger fish. It is fitted with pegging points, too, so you never have to worry about it slipping around on the bank and it means that you can set up the mat ready to go when you set up your swim so you don’t have to worry about wrestling with your equipment whilst your fish is in the net.
For ease of transportation this Shimano Olive Beanie Mat folds in half and clips together and is fitted with a carry handle. It is also fitted with an Aero Quiver System attachment, enabling it to be clipped onto Shimano’s unique Aero Quiver System strap with ease – ideal for those anglers who like to travel light down to the bank.
