Gardner D-Ceptor Hooks, All Gardner hooks are manufactured in Japan to meet all the quality requirements. Different models are the result of hundreds of hours of design and testing. Exceptional attention is paid to: the diameter, the angle of attack and the point of deformation, the angle of the eye, they are carefully designed under controlled conditions to achieve the best hook with strength and reliability. For each new model, large-scale field trials are conducted by a team of fishermen for several months (sometimes years) on different water basins; all proposals and adjustments are included in the final model before approval. Gardner hooks are subjected to two-stage hardening. In the first stage the hook is heated to very high temperature for a short time and then quickly cooled. The second process is much longer and much lower. The combination of these two processes ensures that the steel does not become too stiff (brittle) or too soft and brittle. It is no surprise that the high quality carbon-rich steel ensures sharpening, which prevents dullness in stones, mussels and more.
