Korda Rig Packs

Korda Rig Packs

It’s Terminal Tackle Week here at Angling Direct, where we look to shine a light on an area of fishing tackle than can be overlooked, especially by those new to the sport, despite being the part of every angler’s setup that takes care of business when it comes to attracting, catching and landing fish, no matter what the discipline. Terminal tackle is important because it’s the first bit of kit that will come into direct contact with fish while they’re in the water and what you rely on to kick off the landing process. Therefore, choosing the right terminal tackle is crucial when it comes to catching the kind of fish you’re targeting.

As part of Terminal Tackle Week, we’ve put together a range of rig packs from Korda. Korda’s beginnings lie in the kitchen of founder, Managing Director and carp fishing ace Danny Fairbrass, where he began making leads out of a stainless steel dog bowl in the early 1990s. The Basildon-based brand is now one of the biggest names in British carp fishing thanks to its ethos of producing only innovative products that are useful to anglers and using the best manufacturers around to  ensure the quality of those products is unquestionable.

Korda is a company comprised of experienced anglers, with Carp-Talk Carp Fishing Hall of Fame inductee Damian Clarke, renowned big carp catcher Darrell Peck, angling journalist Elliott Gray, fisheries consultant and lecturer Simon Scott and many more making up Team Korda alongside Fairbrass. This highly-regarded group puts Korda gear through its paces in the field to iron out any issues and ensure the final product is easy to use, reliable and of high quality. As a result, Korda has set new standards in the fishing tackle industry, and claims to develop the best carp fishing terminal tackle in the world.

For the uninitiated, a rig is the arrangement of terminal tackle attached to the end of the line and cast into the water to attract and catch fish. Rigs are made from a huge variety of terminal tackle, from the obvious, such as hooks, floats, lures and leads, to the less well-known, like split shot, swivels, feeders and leaders. You can buy ready-made rigs, but more experienced anglers like to make their own because they can tailor them to their exact requirements and they find it more satisfying to catch fish with a rig they’ve made themselves. That’s not to say that making rigs is the preserve of veterans, though - it’s not as tricky as it looks, and simple rigs not only catch fish, but often catch more than more complex rigs.

Our range of Korda Rig Packs provide everything you need to create rigs that are designed to catch certain types of fish in certain conditions. For example, the Korda Spinner Rig Pack provides the terminal tackle you need to construct spinner rigs, which aim to mimic small fish, making them ideal for pike/predator fishing, while the Korda Zig Bundle includes three ready-tied zig rigs, which are a verstaile carp fishing rig because they can be used anywhere from near the surafce to a foot from the bottom.

Whether you’re new to angling or know your way around a tackle box, Korda Rig Packs ensure that not only will you have everything you need to target the fish you want to catch in the conditons at your venue, which is the least you’d expect from packs put together by accomplished fisherman such as Tom Dove, Scott Lloyd and Neil Spooner, but also that the terminal tackle within will be among the finest available to the modern angler.
