If you are a member of the sea fishing community chances are you’ll more than simply recognise the name Penn – you’ll revere it. Famous for producing some of the best big game and sea fishing reels on the market, Penn is an American brand with German heritage. Its reels have consistently won the ICAST award for best new product and the brand has over 1,400 IGFA titles to its name. This Penn Spinfisher V 7500 Longcast represents the brands foray into the uniquely exciting world of carp fishing and forms part of the existing Spinfisher series. This is a limited edition reel that has been designed specifically with carp anglers in mind and you’ll instantly recognise this as a carp reel thanks to its all black cosmetics and carpy wooden handle.
The Spinfisher V 7500 has been fitted with Penn’s Level Line system. This is a worm gear slow oscillation system that ensures a perfect line lay each time. This helps improve you cast significantly each time as it lets line glide of the reel perfectly with each cast. The whole reel has been constructed to be completely watertight – a lay over from Penn’s expertise in sea fishing where the brand has to preserve its reels against the highly corrosive nature of saltwater. This also has big benefits for the freshwater angler as by preventing water from entering the body of the reel it also prevents dirt, grit, or other particular matter from entering the reel dissolved in the water, causing friction damage to the internal components. This means that the Spinfisher V 7500 is a fantastically hardwearing reel that offers smooth lifelong performance. This smooth performance is further aided by the addition of five stainless steel bearings, as well as additional roller bearing, which let the reel operate flawlessly without unwanted friction resistance. The HT-100 drag system on the reel has also been completely sealed, to ensure maintained performance excellence.
