Description
Shimano Biomaster XTB, The new Biomaster XT-B features the unique Shimano Baitrunner spool II which switches from free spool to pre-set drag effortlessly making it perfect for carp and specimen anglers. The 8000 size is a good mid-sized compromise and the Cold Forged spool holds a huge amount of line (0.40mm-320m) making it a serious model for distance anglers, especially for anglers who "row out" baits. 3 shielded stainless steel bearings plus a roller bearing and an easy maintenance port for simple lubrication, deliver smooth assured performance when playing large fish or retrieving at speed. Fitted with Aero Wrap II, 2 speed oscillation and AR-C spool, the casting performance is excellent, making the Biomaster XT-B the perfect partner for medium test curve specimen rods. This new model also has automatic bail closure instead of the former manual version. Dyna-Balance: Reduces reel wobble and allows produces ultra-smooth performance. Power Roller: Significantly reduces line twist during the retrieve and is a big advantage when using thin mono and braid. Super stopper II: With the reel set in anti-reverse mode you'll find zero free-play on the handle. Unerringly positive every time, its practical benefits include micro increment settings of quiver tips or specialist bite indicators and faster hook setting. AR-C Spool: A spool design with a V-shape spool lip ensuring that the line comes off the reel in smaller loops for further and more accurate casting. The AR-C spool will minimise the risk of backlash. Aero Wrap II: By improving the internal friction efficiency Shimano succeeded in bringing its line lay systems close to perfection. Close parallel coils in combination with 2 speed oscillation ensure smoother and further casting. Easy Maintenance: An easy and efficient way to keep your reel working at optimum performance. This feature enables direct lubrication of the reel's inner workings - without having to take it apart. A small oil lubrication port can be found on each of the S-system reels which, when removed, enables you to apply manufacturer approved lubricants to the inside mechanism. Floating Shaft II: The key friction area on most fixed spool reels is where the spool drive shaft meets the pinion. Shimano designers have overcome this by reducing a large percentage of surface area contact, and incorporating bearings on either side of the shaft. The resultant design leaves the shaft in a "floating" position, considerably improving efficiency and longevity. Baitrunner Spool II: Finetuning of the Baitrunner Spool functionality. Both the small drag setting and the big free spool knob now work independently. An improved user friendly handling is the result.
