Shimano Tribal Supressa Rods
Each rod in the Tribal Surpressa series from Shimano has been designed with a specific purpose in mind, from small waters to distance casts. All the rods available have been fitted with a 50mm butt ring. This not only minimises wrap-ups but also has the added benefit of looking really tarty – perfect for the image-conscious carper and bound to cause envy on the bankside. All the guides on this rod are manufactured from Shimano’s stainless steel and aluminium oxide Hardlite material – ensuring their strength and durability. It isn’t only the butt ring that has been designed with perfection in mind, however, and the tip ring is lipless. This ensures that you’ll never experience a crack-off on the cast due to your line wrapping around the lip ring and the anti-wrap feature also ensures you’re able to retrieve with confidence, no matter how much weed you’ve picked up.
Down the other end of the rod you’ll notice the Japanese shrink-wrap EVA and thin rubber ergonomic handle. This gives supreme gripping power, allowing you to fight those big carp with confidence, and the handle is also fitted with a butt stop so your rod can’t be pulled away into the water if you experience an aggressive take. The handle is finished with a stainless steel scratch resistance butt cap.
The rod blank itself is super slim and offers a progressive action. It has an excellent response at both short and long range and extremely responsive line pick-ups. Constructed from XT100 carbon fibre and biofibre mix, this rod is exceptionally durable and strong. Not only this but this rod blank was formed using high pressure heating during the curing process, a process that allows the resin to be evenly distributed throughout the carbon fibre matrix to ensure a strong and consistent performance. You’ll notice 3k weave that begins on the reel seat and moves up the rod for increased butt strength and performance. The blank is textured for that classic carp fishing look. The reel seat is also fitted with an isotope slot – ideal for low light and night time fishing.
The Tribal Surpressa is one carp rod that won’t let you down when you need it.
