Specimen Series - Chalk Stream Grayling

Specimen Series - Chalk Stream Grayling

Join Phil as he enjoys two very productive days long trotting for grayling on two different southern chalk streams. The first day sees Phil roaming the banks of the beautiful River Test, the second day he explores the nearby river Itchen. As well as catching countless grayling, Phil talks you through how he targets these stunning fish, covering swim choice, tackle, bait and much more.

Long trotting for grayling on a cold winter's day is definitely one of my favourite styles of angling. This episode captures the magic of winter fishing.

The first day I visit the river Test and the second day I visit the nearby river Itchen. Both days are packed full of action. I honestly lost count of how many grayling I caught over those two days, not to mention the ravenous trout.

The video is full of advice for anyone looking to target grayling for the first time. But also shows the exact reason I make the long journey from Norfolk down to Hampshire to target these beautiful fish.
