Aqua Fast and Light 100 Fishing Brolly
Aqua’s original Fast and Light Brolly hit the market by storm and it quickly became the brolly to beat – both in terms of quality of manufacture and speed of setup. It quickly became apparent that the only brand that was going to be able to beat the original was the brand that designed it and this latest incarnation from Aqua really raises the bar. In many ways the Aqua Fast and Light 100 Brolly does exactly what is says on the tin, with and extremely speedy setup and a light transportation weight. In fact, the brolly tips the scales at only 4.5kg (5.5kg including sleeve and pegs), so you’ll hardly notice it on your back when you’re roving through the undergrowth to find your perfect spot. At only 55 inches in size (and with a footprint of only 248cm x 185cm) it is a compact solution to the roving anglers’ shelter problems. It can easily be stored inside a rod quiver but, if you are someone who prefers to use a barrow, it does also come with a carry case. This ensures that your brolly is kept in tip top condition in storage as well as in transit.
One of the biggest differences between the original and the Aqua Fast and Light 100 Brolly is the increased head room. This gives advanced visibility and it ensures that you can sit comfortably sheltered in the brolly for hours on end. Aqua has achieved this improved head height without adding additional size on the pack-down due to the addition of a ninth rib. This lifts the front of the shelter without significantly altering its structural make up, ensuring that every last inch of internal space is squeezed from its compact footprint. The Aqua Fast and Light 100 Brolly is ideal for tackling tight swims in harsh weather conditions, where you want to be protected from the elements without interrupting your view over the water. It has a further space saver feature at the point where the spokes meet inside the bivvy, ensuring that you can sit completely upright on a bedchair chair for comfortable all-day angling.
The Aqua Fast and Light 100 Brolly features both extended storm sides and added wings. These provide additional coverage from the rain, wind, and snow, whilst also ensuring that the panoramic view that Aqua has worked so hard to create remains uninterrupted. The brolly is erected with the help of 24 inch Quicksticks, which are available to buy from Aqua products serpately. These have been designed with a unique threading system, which significantly reduces the amount of time it takes to set up the brolly. These act as storm poles andgive the brolly additional structural support in the worst angling conditions.
One nice feature of the Aqua Fast and Light 100 Brolly is its two rod retainer straps. These provide the perfect place to store your rods whilst you’re rigging up or perfromign other bankside tasks. They prevent your rods from slipping down or blowing over whilst you’re busy with other tasks and they negate the risk of your rod catching on and ripping your bivvy as it falls to the ground. The Aqua Fast and Light 100 Brolly has been manufactured from Aqua’s trademark Aquatexx material. Not only does this actively repel water – meaning that the water simply beads off the brolly even in the most intense weathers – but it is also totally breathable. This prevents condensation build up inside the brolly system, too. If condensation is a big worry for you, you can also purchase the overwrap. This gives the brolly a front, which is ideal on colder days, and it packs down into a 2kg parcel that is small enough to fit in your rucksack. There is also a groundsheet available to buy. All of the additional products are 100% compatible with previous Aqua Fast and Light products.
