Daiwa Emblem BR25A Reel
After the success of the compact Cast’izm BR, Daiwa decided to redesign the brand’s famous Emblem reel – this time integrating a compact Bite ‘n’ Run design. Bite ‘n’ Run is Daiwa’s bait running free-spool system that operates via the use of a lever. When engaged this lever stops the drag from operating on the spool. This has the result of allowing the fish to run with your hookbait after a bite. However, the moment you apply pressure through the handle the lever disengages – engaging your drag and throwing your reel into fight mode. In real terms this system means that you can tackle harder fighting fish with more confidence, knowing that you are going to be able to achieve more positive hooksets and more landed fish. However, one big problem that Daiwa faced for many years was being able to enable this Bite ‘n’ Run feature on a smaller reel. The design team hit the nail on the head with the Cast’izm BR, so they decided to employ the same technique with the new Emblem BR25A.
The Daiwa Emblem BR25A is fitted with a shorted 25mm big pit spool – or as Daiwa terms it a ‘mini big pit’. This gives you the kind of performance you would expect from a classic big pit on a large water scaled down – making this the ideal reel for ‘big pit’ carp fishing on the UK’s mid sized waters. In short, this reel is a distance casting tool which is designed to allow you to hit the further features on all medium sized venues. This reel also offers big pit cranking as well as big pit casting and it can comfortably retrieve 107cm of line per handle turn.
The Daiwa Emblem BR25A also offers a plethora of other features that you would expect to find on top specification Daiwa reel. This includes the likes of Air Rotor, Air Bail and TwistBuster. If you’re looking for a small yet powerful top end carp reel then you need look no further than the Daiwa Emblem BR25A.
