Daiwa has led the way in terms of big pit innovation for the last 60 years. All this experience in big pit design has culminated in this: the Tournament Basiair. The big brother of the famous Basia reel (developed in by Daiwa in conjunction with carp legends Danny Fairbrass and Damain Clarke), the Basiair is a reduced weight reel with all the power of its heavier counterparts.
The Daiwa team stretched the boundaries of what the world thought could be achieved with big pit reels when it designed the Basiair. A remarkable 445g, this reel is exceptionally lightweight – so light it hardly feels as if it is on the rod at all. Shaving 50g off its predecessor, the Basia, this Basiair utilises remarkable new technology to achieve its featherweight credentials. An Air Metal magnesium alloy body and an ultra-light Zaion rotor ensures that the reel is both lightweight and durable and, to save even more weight, Daiwa has shaved down this reel on the handle and internal mechanisms – retaining all the power of the Basia but without the added baggage. The Tournament Basiair has often been described as a reel with big pit ethics but a match reel brain – perfect for the dedicated carp angler.
With the same 45mm spool as the Basia, the Tournament Basiair is everything the big pit angler could ask for and with a gear ratio of 4.1:1 it draws in almost 90cm with every turn. Fitted with the outstanding Quick Drag (QD) clutch system, a system that is putting the original Baitrunner technology to shame, you won’t have any trouble with fish playing! Super smooth, the QD system is quick to activate and you can flick between freespool and drag with a half-turn of the clutch.
If all these features weren’t enough to draw you in, the Tournament Basiair can also offer no less than eight stainless steel ball bearings, including five corrosion resistant ball bearings, a Daiwa patented HIP line clip, and starlight holes on the spool skirt.

Return of goods & Refunds
