Established in Liverpool 1989, Harrison Rods manufactures a huge range of top quality rods and blanks, which are loved by anglers up and down the country. All the rods and blanks in Harrison’s range are totally designed, developed, and manufactured in the UK – assuring outstanding production quality as well as stellar design. Not content with resting on its laurels as a premier producer of top of the range rods and blanks, Harrison is at the cutting edge of carbon fibre innovation and development top create even better performance products. Harrison is currently working closely with UK universities to further develop the potential of carbon fibre. This is a unique position for a tackle company to be in, and Harrison hopes it is one that should excite anglers across the country as it translates directly into high end technology to benefit your fishing.
Managing Director, Dr Stephen Harrison, has spent a lifetime in the tackle industry and has gathered an expert team around him to help him create what are, quite simply, the best rods on the market. These experts all have many years of hands-on experience of making fishing rods under their belts. This experience coupled with the academic research makes Harrison Rods unique in their capability to couple the very best craftsmanship and technology.
Harrison understands that a new set of rods is a big investment, and all its rods are built to last. If you buy a Harrison rod you can be assured that it will offer you years of reliable service, and, if an accident happens, spares are available for rods going back at least 20 years. Harrison does not change rods every year or introduce new models unless they represent real progress. That is why the Torrix sells just as well today as it did five years ago.
Harrison Rods are probably best known for their world class carp rods. From the classic Ballistas, to the current Torrix, Trebuchets, Aviators, Advanced and Acurix - these brands are synonymous with quality worldwide. Although Harrison produces rods primarily for carp fishing, anglers in other disciplines have been wowed by the incredible technology and Harrison rods are popular in the predator angling community too. Harrison even offer custom carp rods, made to your specific requirements.
When asked what makes Harrison Rods special, Steve Harrison says:
‘I believe we are unique in our mixture of passion, commitment, experience and technology. I have invested a lifetime in making fishing rods and it is no surprise we are pretty good at it. What really sets us apart though is our involvement in the academic side of carbon fibre research, and our access to a wide range of materials not readily available to all rod makers. Add to that the input we get from working with some of the world’s best carp anglers, and you get the potential to make best possible rods and blanks. I have kept the business in the UK as that is the only way to retain total control of manufacturing, and besides that, my team and I enjoy what we do. We don’t want to be the biggest rod maker in the world, but we do want to be the best.’
Of course, Harrison Rods don’t just make carp rods and also make tubular components for motorsport, canoeing, sailing and many other applications. During the past years Harrison has invested heavily in new equipment and tooling. Looking forward, it is excited to extend its already comprehensive range.
