Sonik Gravity HT Rod
If you’re in the market for a brand new sea fishing rod then you need look no further. Already one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of carp rods, Sonik has turned its hand to the sea fishing discipline in order to create casting machines that can cope with even the roughest of waters. The Sonik team has come up with this: the Gravity HT Rod. Designed on the model of the original Gravity Surf Rods this brand new instalment to the series features several improved technologies in order to ensure that it is more powerful and higher tech than ever.
One of these key feature enhancements is the hollow carbon tip. Stiffer than the one on the original Gravity, this tip is white for ease of bite detection – even in poor or low light conditions. Not only does the bite detection improve your catch rate but this rod is also perfect for use fishing over clay, where you need a stiffer tip in order to lift the lead from the bottom. The rod boasts cutting edge Fuji technology, including Alconite K guides and a top end Fuji reel fitting. If you were to create a top end bespoke fishing rod then Fuji would be your only option, so when it came to designing this Gravity HT Rod Sonik knew exactly which company to turn to.
The blank on this rod is constructed from high modulus carbon. This ensures that this blank offers the kind of rigidity you need when you’re tackling stiff currents, whilst also providing the fish playing sensitivity you’ll have grown accustomed to. This blank is also ultra-lightweight, allowing you to fish all day with ease and the 14ft 4inch version of the rod is only 459g, with the 15ft 4inch version coming in just shy of 600g. This blank is finished in a stunning metallic blue. This ensures that you look great whilst using this rod and the Sonik Gravity HT is sure to turn heads wherever you go.
This is the ideal rod choice when paired with a classic big fixed spool reel, especially when you’re using a braided mainline to tackle large fish with big baits in heavy waters.
