Thinking Anglers 5mm Naked Chod Beads,
Now funny enough this one caused us quite a few headaches, size was not a problem 5mm and round in shape.
But getting the tungsten to grip the line on big casts was being a problem; although we were really happy with the weight of the bead, the moving of the bead on the cast was frustrating.
First we got the float stop totally put inside but we all felt that if we could actually pull the float stop out this would be a better option. By making it this way round they can be used with the knowledge that they wont move when casting further out, but in turn this made them really handy for quite a few other applications, obviously they are directed for the use with the naked chod rig which is very popular, but even for the multi rig counter weight.
By simply using a standard pop up and trimming the sides away until it was critically balanced. Also they were great for using on the rivers; we used them up the line as leaf stops when the river is passing through fast whilst we were Barbel and Chub fishing. Another good one was on braided hook links, as we all like using a couple close together, only a few inches from the hook to help turn better once in the carps mouth.
We have found that a couple of these heavy little beads work a treat for this. I have also been taking the float stop out of the middle completely, taking the bead and using this as a top bead on my helicopter set up on my lead core, as they fit snug over our brown silicone tube. I am sure there are many other uses for these heavy little tungsten beads even float fishing
