Wychwood have developed the RS Competition series of fly rods with that in mind to bring an excellent all round fly rod to the market that's a fantastic fishing tool for all forms of competition or pleasure angling.
Built on a sombre blank, matt grey, with eye catching detail on the butt section, high gloss black whippings with red highlights the RS Competition fly rods look as good as they perform. Furthermore, with the machined, high gloss, anodised reel seat and AAA cork handle, this fly rod oozes class!
This new range of Wychwood fly rods has been tailored to suit the modern competition fly angler's wants and needs. Manufactured with new ENIR technology these rods have an ultra-fast action, delivering vast amounts of both power and performance. However, unlike some fast-action rods, the ENIR technology used in the blank's construction means that they are very light, at the same time up being far more durable than normal carbon fibre. ENIR boosts the performance of composite tubes dramatically and reinforces the resin between carbon fibre, making a very flexible, light, yet incredibly strong structure.
The rod blank is made of a High Modulus multi-layer top of the range Toray Carbon, which allows the rod blank to remain slim and lightweight, but still pack incredible strength.
With the continued development of longer and higher density fly lines, reservoir anglers need an outfit to cope and this fly rod does that with ease. Powering out long fly fishing lines, whatever the weather, is often crucial to success and with such aggressive action, and super-fast recovery, distance casting is easily achieved.
