Abu Garcia is one of the most popular and prolific constructors of sea fishing reels in the world. The Swedish brand has dominated the market since the mid 20th century and continued to do so thanks to its consistent innovation and high quality of manufacture. Indeed, the brand was awarded the enviable title of Purveyor to the Royal Swedish Court as a result of its continued production quality excellence and high manufacture standards. Of all the ranges of reels that Abu Garcia has manufactured, the Ambassadeur has to have been the most successful. With a version of the reel in production since 1952, when then the reel was originally launched, the Ambassadeur has to have been one of the most successful reel series of all time.
This Ambassadeur S more than lives up to its impressive heritage. Available in both left and right hand retrieve models, the Ambassadeur S is constructed from a zinc frame and aluminium side plates. This ensures that the reel is corrosion resistant – an essential feature for all sea fishing reels – as well as maintaining the low weight that is expected from a top end reel. The reel operates on a four pin centrifugal brake system, giving you ultimate braking choice every time you head to the coast and ensuring a consistent pressure is released throughout the cast for maximum casting performance. the drag system operates on a multi-disc system, for maximum smoothness of use, and the reel is also fitted with two stainless steel ball bearings to maintain this smooth performance throughout the reel’s life.
The Abu Garcia Ambassadeur S offers a synchronised level wind, ensuring you are able to achieve a flawless line lay. This, in turn, improves the reels casting performance and ensures you can hit all the point in the water that you require in order to get the most out of your angling session. The handle on both the left and right handed versions of the reel feature Abu Garcia’s innovative bent design. This makes them more ergonomic and provides more power to the reel’s 5.1:1 gearing system.
