The Advanta River Ambush rods were designed for targeting specimen size fish from smaller natural venues and rivers. Based around a short blank concept the rods have a very subtle through action to soak up sudden rushes from big fish and plenty of power in the lower end of the rod to ensure you remain in control. The advantages of short rods are that you can get into position easier especially if there is undergrowth of bushes around you. The short rod also allows you to set the rod in tight swims easily and discreetly to ensure you do not spook fish when up close. The Advanta River ambush rods feature carbon blanks with a spliced in fibreglass tip for bite registration, ultralight guides and a full cork handle and grip complement this rod. These little rods also make great starter rods for younger anglers, they have all the features and quality of the longer types but are much easier for youngsters and beginners to hold and use.

The Advanta River Ambush Rod has been designed for targeting specimen size fish from smaller natural venues and rivers. Based around a short blank concept, these short fishing rods offer the advantage of allowing you to get into position easier especially if there is undergrowth of bushes around you. Part of the new Advanta Barbel & Specimen Rod range, these fishing rods are not just tools for barbel fishing, but can also be used for targeting other specimen fish from both still and moving waters such as Tench, Carp and Chub.
These fishing rods have been built around a super slim and high modulus carbon rod blank, with plenty of power in the butt section of the rod to allow the angler to tame even the most powerful of specimen fish at close quarters, whereas the tip section is soft enough to prevent hook pulls and allow great bite indication. For increased strength and durability these fishing rods feature lightweight minima style guides. These guides allow you to use either mono fishing line or braided line. Advanta have incorporated a DPS reel seat on these fishing rods with 3k carbon barrel so that you can use a wide range of fishing reels from small fixed spool reels to large freespool reels.
Available in two sizes, a 5.5ft 1.5lb size and a 7ft 1.75lb which are both ideal for small/medium rivers or even as a light stalking rod for carp fishing. Advanta have supplied both of these fishing rods in their own cloth rod bag which makes transport and storage of these fishing rods quick and easy. Finished with a full cork handle to give the specimen angler the optimum grip when casting and playing fish, whilst giving the fishing rod a stylish look. The Advanta River Ambush Rod is a great addition to any anglers specialist fishing tackle.
