Century NG (Next Generation) SU (Stepped Up) Carp Rods - 2015 Model
The Century NG has a prolific history that cannot be under estimated. The original rod series was designed in conjunction with Frank Warwick – an angling legend by any account – and it achieved an almost cult like status amongst a select group of carp anglers for whom fish playing ability is the most important aspect of a rods makeup. This NG rod is the 2015 model and it boasts a whole plethora of technologies that could even be conceived when the original NG was released.
There are two different models of the NG available. The first of these is the NG +. This comes with an abbreviated handle and it is a 12ft rod offering a 2.75lb test. As you might expect, this rod boasts significant improvements on the original – the first of which that you’ll notice as soon as you pick up the rod is the reduction in weight. However, the ultra-light weight of this rod doesn’t affect the rod’s power in the slightest, thanks to the use of 2K carbon weave from the butt section to the reel seat and 1K carbon weave from the reel seat to the first ring. This rod is ringed with a 40mm guide configuration. The Century NG+ also boasts a 1K twill reel seat, too.
The second model available is the SU (Stepped Up) version of the NG, of which there are two different options. The first of these options is a 12ft 3lb test rod – perfect for most standard carp work and ideal for use on all mid-intermediate waters. The second of these options is a 13ft 3lb rod. This performs superbly on the slightly bigger venues, as well as most continental European waters.
All of the rods in the range benefit from the precision engineering of Century’s CAD and CAM design and manufacture. ATT (anti-twist) and autoclave (eliminating test curve decay) are standard throughout the 2015 Century NG range.
