ADTV - AD365 Episode 3

In Episode Three of AD365, Hassan Khan recaps the Angling Direct adventures of the past few months, introduces angling’s answer to Ant and Dec (at least in Hassan’s estimation), and muses about when, or if, the same budget that bought the AD media team a brand new drone might be stretched to reward his hard work, and the mileage clocked up to bring you the most dynamic vlogs on the angling scene, with a new t-shirt, or possibly a little extra in his pay packet.

Starting as he means to go on, Episode Three of AD365 opens to Hassan whining that “You don’t see Tom Cruise or Leonardo Di Caprio sitting around waiting, getting cold and nervous in the studio, do you?” Moving on from complaints about working conditions, Hassan flashes our lively, dynamic AD365 hand gesture, developed specifically for this series of vlogs, a series of flexing and stretching that limbers him up to flow seamlessly into introducing the news and reviews of the past few weeks in the world of the UK’s leading angling retailer.

Taking the lead in news is, inevitably, the “Beast from the East” – the unseasonal snow storms that shut down fishing for the closing months of the river season, with a blanket of thick snow meaning that the only fish in sight were those crafted by snowed-in enthusiasts, some of which were almost as impressive as the real thing! As Hassan says, when the weather closes in like that, the only thing to do is to get the kettle on, grab your Angling Direct mug, and sit back to binge watch Drennan Cup hopeful and Angling Direct store manager Phil Spinks, as he showcases the huge potential on offer within the world of British angling, with a 39lb carp that took him to the very edge of a brace of 40s.

Chris Collins and Stephen “Widget” Crowe have been rebranded and relaunched by media-savvy manager Hassan as “Angling’s answer to Ant and Dec”. With a dedicated focus on producing engaging, quality video content on all aspects of angling, and everything Angling Direct, this happy couple are ramping up the offerings on our dynamic YouTube channel, ADTV, giving you everything from in-depth documentaries looking behind the scenes at Hadlow College, and exploring the ins and outs of Angling Direct stores near you – this time, they were touring Ashford and Sittingbourne, our two Kent stores, as well as finding out about all things spawning at Hadlow College, where a dedicated further education programme ensures that the next generation of fishery managers and aquaculture specialists are fully aware of all the latest developments and points of focus in their discipline – right through to whistlestop tours of all things angling tactics with AD Quickbites, product videos, where the guys blend business and pleasure, filming some of the dynamic products Angling Direct have to offer, whether in your local Angling Direct store, or on our website, including the Advanta CSX V2 carp rods, arcing smoothly against the midday sun, and bringing in some spectacular results on the bank – although Hassan maintains the team only caught because it was silly season, with carp throwing themselves at anything. Why not watch the video on ADTV, and judge for yourself?

As an avid angler, you probably remember having to learn how to hold a carp safely and securely; with absolutely no advertising, placement, or plugging at all, Hassan demonstrates the correct way to pose for a photo with your new personal best with a placard that just happened to be handy, advertising our “spend and save” scheme, AD Rewards, where you get money off with everything you buy from Angling Direct, whether in store or online. Musing about how to manage a commercial mention without overdoing it, Hassan moves on to a reminder of just how gullible some people can be, recapping our fantastic Easter offering of Egg Oilies, with a video reminding anglers everywhere of just what they missed out on – we sold out of Egg Oilies, so you’ll have to wait and see whether we’ll bring these epic, high-catching bait back.

And then, inevitably, Hassan gets back to that drone, blaming an essential purchase, that will allow our media team to take our vlogs and videos to the next level, giving you the very best content, on a rolling basis, so you never miss out on dynamic, professional news, views, and reviews of everything that’s new and cool in angling.

Widget shows off his drone skills in a video that’s all about epic angles and dynamic views – even better, the expensive piece of company property returned in one piece; definitely a win all round.

The drone-shot scenery isn’t the only impressive thing in the world of Angling Direct; on the 28th May, we had a Triple S of Super Saturdays at stores in Sheffield, Slough, and Swindon, with angling superstars including Terry Dempsey, from Urban Baits, and the tantalising aroma of sausages announcing the arrival of the Hungry Carper; Hassan makes sure everyone is aware of the driving and commitment he put in to bringing spectacular videos of these all-action events; whether it gets him that new shirt he’s been going on about throughout this video, however, remains to be seen!

A drone isn’t the only new thing in the Angling Direct head office in Rackheath; we’ve got a tankful of real beauts that are settling in as our new office pets – and which are in need of some names! So, drop us a comment with your thoughts on piscatorial personification; there might even be a small prize for the wittiest name, so give it some thought.

In the world of non-captive fish, angler Justin Grapes has been “living the bream”, with a couple of truly huge specimens, in near-perfect condition, pulled out of his regular venue, and Hassan went live with Alan Blair, in the watery wilds of Essex, a place seemingly packed with the massive carp Hassan has vowed to learn to land – apparently, his usual littl’uns just aren’t doing it for him these days. It’s 2018; everything’s going bigger and better, it seems, and it should come as no surprise that the Angling Direct team are keen to take their bank results the same way.

Thanks for joining us for AD365 Episode Three, and remember; let us know your thoughts for names for our new pets, subscribe to our ADTV YouTube channel, and sign up, in store or online, for AD Rewards – and don’t forget to tune in to AD365 next time!
