Fischer by name fisher by nature! Chris Fischer is one of the most prolific and widely known anglers in the States and he is as famous for his fantastic conservation work as he is for his killer catches. Founding chairman and chief expedition leader of OCEARCH, a world leading shark conservation and research charity, Chris aims to bridge the gap between marine biologists and anglers on the water. As Chris himself has regularly stated, often anglers like himself know much more about the state of the ocean than the scientists researching it – purely because of the hours they spend on the water itself. Sharks are apex predators and are essential for promoting the healthy population turn over of some of the oceans most sought after catches. As soon as Chris processed the full extent of this he set to work educating anglers about the importance of looking after sharks and to date he has led in excess of 23 global expeditions – tagging and tracking the oceans biggest predators to ensure their continued success.

Chris can always be seen with a pair of Costa del Mar Sunglasses around his neck on these expeditions, so Costa decided to honour the great man with a pair of his very own purpose built glasses. Injected with a zero-slip Hydrolite rubber, these glasses won’t go anywhere – even in the most aggressive of shark fights. These glasses are also fitted with Costa del Mar’s unique patented ventilation system. This ensures that you won’t suffer any loss of vision when things get steamy, keeping your eyes cool even when the situation becomes heated. As with all Costa glasses these Fisch Sunglasses are constructed by hand from TR90 nylon, ensuring that they are durable enough to withstand the rigours of a hard day on the water.

There are five different lens options available in the Fisch range of sunglasses. This ensures that you don’t have to be a saltwater angler to benefit from these top quality specs. The grey and silver lens options are ideal for freshwater anglers who regularly find themselves fishing in variable light conditions. This encompasses most of the UK’s angling weather and ensures that these glasses are perfect for carp fishing, as well as freshwater predator fishing. The blue and green lens options are perfect for sea fishing in bright light conditions, with the blue lenses being best suited to offshore work whilst the green glass options are perfect for beach fishing. The final lens option is Costa’s yellow ‘sunrise’ lens. As the name suggests, this is an excellent dawn and dusk lens option for either salt or freshwater fishing. This is the only lens in the range that isn’t suitable for driving, due to its colour warping and polarising qualities.
